American Music Festival 2016
Join us for the American Music Festival September 2nd – 4th here on the Virginia Beach oceanfront!
The sounds of rock, jazz, country, R&B, and more flood the Virginia Beach oceanfront for three sun-filled days over Labor Day Weekend at the American Music Festival. The largest outdoor music event on the East Coast, the American Music Festival brings together national, regional, and local acts to play on a stage on the beach at 5th Street, as well as stages in all the parks along the boardwalk. With just about every music genre, there’s something for everyone.

Funkfest Beach Party 2016

The State Farm FunkFest is the heart and soul of this weekend event, featuring music generated over the years by influential legends such as James Brown, Sly and the Family Stone, George Clinton, and The Ohio Players. Mid-Atlantic Hermit Crab Challenge – July 23
Come join us for the Mid-Atlantic Hermit Crab Challenge on July 23.
The Crab is King at this one-of-a-kind event that’s fun for the whole family! Along with the Crustacean 500 race, participants may enter the Miss Curvaceous Crustacean Beauty Pageant. At the pageant, hermit crabs are presented in uniquely-decorated displays and judged on beauty and creativity. Hermit crab owners are encouraged to build a unique display for their crab. Past winners have included themed entries like “Spider Crab,” “Hermit the Hulk,” “Beauty and the Crab,” and “Pirates of the Crabibbean!” Approximately 300 hermit crabs participate in the Mid-Atlantic Hermit Crab Challenge each year. Many of these come from out of state just to be with us! ALL participants receive a medal for being a part of this unique event. There are no fees for entering.
4th of July Fireworks & Events
Multiple live performances on oceanfront stages will attract thousands of visitors and residents of Virginia Beach to a “star-spangled” salute to this great country of ours at Stars & Stripes Explosion on Saturday, July 4, 2016. Scheduled entertainment offers something for everyone: patriotic and classical to Motown, a musical tribute dedicated to Billy Joel, and world-class magic performed by an internationally-recognized illusionist!
From 8:00pm-9:30pm, a stage erected right on the beach at 20th Street will become the focal point for performances featuring patriotic, Broadway, and classical selections. The show will segue into a spectacular fireworks show at 9:30pm that promises to explode over the ocean in a burst of colors and patterns! All concerts are free and open to the public. >more info
Virginia Beach Fireworks Schedule 2016
Fireworks are scheduled in Virginia Beach for the Fourth of July of course:) In addition , there are weekly firework displays during the summer for guests to enjoy.
Fireworks may be viewed anywhere from the boardwalk. They are launched off 23rd Street from a barge on the water.
