Weekly Fireworks Display

View fireworks from the boardwalk, where they are launched off 22nd Street from a barge on the water. (weather permitting)

Family Great Adventures Series

6-8:30
On the Beach (20th to 30th Street)

The wildly-popular Family Great Adventure Series is all about Discovery and Entertainment at the Virginia Beach oceanfront!

On select nights during the season, families can take part in an interactive adventure that leads them to various sites along the boardwalk and Atlantic Avenue to unravel a mystery. Sometimes the adventures involve games and contests right on the beach. During each adventure, participants can dress up as characters, use brain and brawn to win the contest at hand, and settle into the sand for a family-friendly movie shown on a giant inflatable screen on the beach!

Each night is themed to the particular movie being shown! All Family Great Adventures are free and everyone who participates gets a medal!

Movie: Toy Story (G)

On the beach at 29th Street

Family Great Adventure Series begins promptly at 6:00pm.  Participants must register by 6:20pm to take part in the interactive family event.

Can your team help round up all the “toys” scattered all over and bring them home and unite them for the highest point total?

Toy Story: A cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman figure supplants him as top toy in a boy’s room

Family Great Adventure Series
July 12, 2018 – 6:00pm
Virginia Beach Oceanfront – 29th St

The popular Family Great Adventure Series is back at the Virginia Beach Oceanfront for another year of family fun and film watching on the beach under the stars. In July and August, eight evenings will feature a different movie with a corresponding family activity prior to the film. All movies and family activities are free and open to the public.
